Title: Curve Fitting
Author: M2-TUM
Institution: TU Munich
Description: This GUI gives illustrates curve fitting in Matlab with a graphical user interface. The user may control the following features:
  • the degree of the polynomial for curve fitting
  • the number of points to be used for fitting
  • x- and y-axes limits
  • selection of points by mouse-click.
The user may click on the button called "Select Points", this will start the point selection procedure. The program will wait for the user to mouse-click to select points (on the figure area only). Selected points are displayed with small red circles. The button "FIT", may then be used to plot the fitted curve. If no points are selected, clicking on this button will result in an error message. Also, the user should be careful about the selection of the degree of the polynomial and the number of points, i.e. the number of points should be greater than the degree of the polynomial (otherwise, a warning message will appear). "Clear" clears the figure. "INFO" displays help, and "CLOSE" exits program.

After unzipping, please start the program with hw_polyfit
